If your golf cart is losing range, you're facing a big decision: replace the lead-acid pack or upgrade to lithium. Here's an honest comparison.
Upfront cost
A new set of quality lead-acid batteries costs significantly less upfront than a lithium conversion. If you rarely use your cart or plan to sell it soon, lead-acid can make sense.
Lifespan
Lead-acid golf cart batteries typically last 4 to 6 years with good maintenance — often less in Florida heat. LiFePO4 lithium batteries commonly last 8 to 10 years or more.
Maintenance
Lead-acid batteries need regular watering, cleaning and equalizing. Lithium needs none of that. For many owners, eliminating maintenance alone justifies the upgrade.
Performance and weight
Lithium packs are much lighter and deliver full power until they're nearly empty, so your cart doesn't slow down as the battery drains. You'll also see faster charging.
Our recommendation
If you use your cart several times a week and plan to keep it, lithium usually costs less over its lifetime. We're happy to test your current pack and give you both options.
